Have you experienced this before?

You rocked the photo shoot.  The clients had a great experience and now they can't wait to see their images!
You edit the images to perfection, upload them to an online gallery and send through the link to your clients.

Then you sit back and eagerly wait for the money to roll in.

A day goes by.  Two days.  Three days.  Then ... nothing, nada, zip.  Or their order is tiny.  Just a few small prints.  Nothing like you expected.

It sucks.  You're frustrated and discouraged.  But it doesn't have to be that way.

Are you ready to build your sales confidence, conquer your fears and make the money you deserve?

Keep reading.  We've got the help you need to rock your portrait sales, even if you're not a natural salesperson.

Hi, I'm Katie!  It feels a bit weird to admit it, but I don’t have a business bone in my body. I’m not a super confident person. And I’m definitely not a natural sales person.

If you're struggling with portrait sales, I can definitely relate to you.

In the first year of my business, my highest ever portrait sale was $500.  Matt and I slapped a high five and went out to dinner to celebrate!

Usually though, my average sale was between $180 - $250.

My most disappointing portrait sale was $66 (three 5x7 prints). Yes, I cried after that one.  A lot.

Even though I wasn’t making much money, I was definitely working my butt off!  I would work on some photo sessions for up to 8 hours.

I was so frustrated and discouraged.  My photos were beautiful and I was so proud of them.

It turns out I was making so many mistakes.  More than I could count.

On top of the things I mentioned, I’m also a very stubborn girl.  I don’t like being told what to do, especially by Matt.

He had asked me so many times if I wanted some help, and each time my response was “No way!  Just leave me alone Matt, this is MY thing, I’m doing fine.”

But really, I was doing anything but fine.

Fast forward a few weeks and some more sucky sales session later, Matt offered to help me again.

This time though, I said, "Ok.  But be nice, I'm trying really hard!"

Relunctantly I listened to Matt as he made some suggestions and gave me feedback.

Oh my goodness!

Matt's suggestions were so simple and just made sense!

Some of the things he pointed out seemed SO OBVIOUS.  I couldn’t believe that I’d been making such big mistakes!  With some brainstorming, we came up with even more ideas, including a script for me to follow.

We mapped out a plan for my sales sessions.
Step-by-step, word-for-word what to say and how to guide clients to my ideal sale.

I tweaked everything so that I was comfortable saying the words naturally. The very next sales session I made $1,500.

I could not believe it!
From $66 to $1,500 by making some very simple changes which we'll teach you in this guide!

I kicked myself for not letting Matt help me sooner.  All the time and effort I'd wasted!

That $1,500 sale wasn’t a once off either.  It became my average sale.  Then my average grew to around $2,000.

With this new approach, my highest ever portrait sale was $9,000 - and that was for a newborn shoot.

I went from doing the occasional lucky $500 sale to doing $260,000 worth of portrait sales in one year.

And this was in a small town saturated
with nearly 100 shoot and burn photographers
who weren't charging much for their work.

After Matt’s suggestions and our brainstorming sessions, the results I achieved increased my confidence so much! I was so relieved!

I didn't have to magically become a super confident person or a sleazy salesperson.  The system and the script did the selling for me.  All I had to do was follow it, tweak it and most of all, just be myself.

I'm excited that because of my journey, you'll be able to build your sales confidence, conquer your fears and make the money you deserve!

Here’s how I would describe Katie:

Katie is a 100% genuine, caring, giving, kind and sweet girl.  Her strengths are her personality and creativity.

Like many photographers, business and sales didn't come naturally to Katie.

So, how did she learn to rock her portrait sales?

Let me introduce myself.

Hi, I'm Katie's husband ... Matt.  I’m almost the exact opposite to Katie. Yes, I’m creative. But I'm also very business minded and have a natural understanding of sales psychology.  On top of that, I'm a problem-solver and analytical thinker to the max.

Katie jokes that she was born with more talent than confidence, and I was born with more confidence than talent.  Ha ha!  Nice one sweetie.  But it's true.

It broke my heart to see Katie working so hard and not getting the reward for her effort.  Her photos were gorgeous, and she genuinely wanted the best for her clients.

I was so happy the day that Katie allowed me to help her.

With the right approach to sales, Katie was able
to use photography to make her dreams a reality.

Top Left: Wedding anniversary in Cambodia.  Top Middle: Our view in Santorini, Greece.  Top Right: Our first home!
Bottom Left: Katie seeing snow for the first time (Colorado).  Bottom Middle: Our morning walk.  Bottom Right: Katie with her god-mother in Cambodia.

Over the last 8 years, we've come to realise that there are two types of photographers in the industry today.

There's the "Katies" and the "Matts". Which one are you?  Are you a Katie or a Matt?

Maybe you're like Matt.  In that case, you possibly don't need this guide.  You're doing ok on your own.  Or it could help you take your sales to a whole new level.

It's highly possible that you're just like Katie.

Most photographers are creative and passionate, but struggle with business and sales.

It doesn't have to be this way.

That's why we made this guide for you.

"Believe in yourself."
"Just be fearless."
"Fake it until you make it."
"Just do it."

Have you ever been given this advice?  Isn't it useless? And doesn't it make you want to high five the advice giver, in the face, with a chair?

Seriously, this is possibly the worst advice ever to give to someone who struggles with confidence or anxiety.

Here's our suggestion ... instead of confidence, think about predictability.

Confidence comes from predictable results.
Predictable results come from doing the right thing, over and over.
And it's those results that give you confidence.

As Katie found, to do awesome portrait sales you don't need to magically become confident overnight.

Confidence doesn't magically come from within.
You just need a solid and predictable foundation on which to build your confidence.

Over time and with practice, it all becomes second nature.

The sales session is the culmination of all the hard work and money you've put into your marketing, advertising, website, branding and social media.  Make the sale count.

In-person sales are not about being pushy or pressuring clients with the “hard sell”.  In-person sales are also not about tricking people or emotionally manipulating them.

You don’t have to be a sleazy salesperson with a bag of sales tricks.

Just like Katie, with the right foundation

Don't worry.  We'll walk through various ways you can customize this guide to your unique situation, whether you own a high-end studio with your own ordering room or if you only do photography part-time with no dedicated space to hold sales meetings.

Everything you will learn in this guide
can be tailored to your unique situation.

Can we ask you a few questions? Forget about this guide for a moment.  Block out everything going on around you, and focus on these two questions.

What would you do with the extra money?

And how would it improve your life?

Pause for a moment.  Grab a pen and paper and write down your answers.
We can wait.  This page isn't going anywhere.

Nobody works hard to make money, just for the sake of making money.  We make money because of what we get to do with that money.

Maybe you'd use the money to:

- leave a job you're not passionate about

- save for an epic family vacation each year

- put in your dream kitchen or bathroom

- travel the world

- create the time to volunteer for a cause you love

- take the pressure off your spouse or partner's job

- send your kids to a better school

- treat yourself to a princess day every week (Katie's favourite!)

What would you do with the extra money?  And how would it improve your life?

Even if you don't buy this guide, please take the time to answer those two questions.

How much is your dream worth?

Don't ask "Is this guide worth the money?"
Ask "Is my dream worth the money?"

In a year's time, will you look back and regret not starting today? Or will you look back and say, "I did it! I made my dream happen"? That's why we wrote this guide for you.

Matt and Katie Ebenezer are a husband and wife photography team from the sleepy coastal town of Kings Beach, Australia.

In 2005, they met, started dating, got engaged and then married ... all within 3 months.
They want to change the world.  One photographer at a time.
Matt and Katie believe that when photographers have the time and money to live the life they want, and the time and money to tell the stories they want, then the whole world benefits.
